IT and Network Architect - NETE (CCS25-19)

Purpose of Role: Weir is currently looking for a permanent, full-time IT Architect with a focus on network design and administration. In this role, the IT Architect will be responsible for documenting, developing, testing, and integrating network architectures, network services, and software tools that support the simulation of naval ships. The network services and software tools on these networks are used to facilitate communications between commercial simulation applications; to record, collect and analyze output data from simulation applications; and to provide configuration control and management for all simulation applications and tools. The network design and development will also involve supporting the activities to accredit networks. The activities of the IT Architect support the test and production environments used to run simulations in a state-of-the-art high-performance computing facility.
The main thrust of this work shall be to find and provide ways to improve the capabilities of the modelling and simulation team at DND’s Canadian Forces Maritime Warfare Center (CFMWC) in Halifax, Nova Scotia. This is an opportunity to become involved from beginning to end in the software design, build and test cycle.
