Job Description
The Campus Recreation Marketing & Communications Coordinator, under unit supervision, prepares, coordinates, and creates print and online media. The specialist is responsible for providing excellent customer service to all Campus Recreation programming participants, while serving as an ambassador of Campus Recreation by working to increase student engagement and promote programs throughout campus. This position reports directly to the Associate Director of Campus Recreation-Operations and will report indirectly to the Assistant Vice President of Marketing and Communications.
This is an in-office position located in Stephenville, Texas with normal work hours of Monday to Friday; from 8 AM to 5PM or as business needs indicate. This position requires a flexible work schedule which at times will require frequent attendance during evenings, weekends and some holidays. Additional hours may be required during peak periods.
A portfolio of previous work samples will be requested.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and implementation of a strategic marketing plan; plan marketing campaigns surrounding programs, workshops, conferences, and special events.
- Adhere to university and division branding and messaging guidelines, protecting the university’s brand identity.
- Develop and create marketing materials for the department, including print and digital assets.
- Perform website maintenance, including photo updates, content updates, gap analysis of content and subsequent content development.
- Review and maintain Campus Recreation website.
- Develop content for and manage, maintain a digital photo library.
- Maintain web calendar by posting campus events via appropriate system.
- Coordinate production of multimedia including slideshows, maps and video clips.
- Oversee department social media sites and work with content providers to create ongoing calendar for posts; posts content.
- Assist with designing, conducting, and analyzing market research activities; identify specific markets and target applicable audiences.
- Serve on department, division, and University committees; participate in various professional, civic, community, or University organizations to further enhance visibility and marketing efforts.
- Prepare, administer, and report semester and annual program evaluations and assessments
- May supervise students as assigned.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or applicable field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three years of related experience
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well with different groups, and event types including events for and by students, faculty, university departments, and community groups.
- Ability to be organized, outgoing, and reliable.
- Must be available to work some weeknights and weekends.
- Attend ALL required training programs.
Preferred Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of professional work experience in marketing, communications, or related field.
Salary:
Commensurate with experience
Salary Range:
The target base annual salary range is $44,000 to $55,550.50 and may be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset in relation to the minimum requirements of this position.
