Job summary:

You will be part of the DevOps & Cloud discipline, a transversal department which offers support to engineers from all the other local departments, in different projects and you will have the chance to join an International DevOps Community with more than 400 engineers from all around the world.

Being part of a team that works on projects in the Avionics domain, you will contribute to the migrations of tools from existing engineering environments to the Thales Digital Platform, getting in contact with dedicated software factories.

The mission consists of understanding build automation in C++ or C# and a strong collaboration with software developers. Efficiency is key, therefore the engineer will need to bring valuable ideas to the project, automating SDLC activities and decreasing the build and deployment time for complex applications. Continuous integration and continuous deployment are essential as there will be a strong focus on Gitlab pipelines and the integration of various tools in each stage.

You’ll need to have

  • Technical study of Computer Science, Informatics, Mathematics, Electronics or similar)
  • Good DevOps background, at least 3 years of professional experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure
  • Good knowledge of software DevOps tools (GitLab, Artifactory, etc)
  • Proven working experience with versioning systems (especially Git)
  • Solid experience with containerised environments (Docker)
  • Good experience with containers orchestration (Kubernetes, Helm)
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines (especially Gitlab pipelines)
  • Development background (C++, C#) and strong collaboration with development teams
  • Dependency management and build automation (Maven, Gradle, Conan, etc.)
  • Eager to work with different programming/scripting languages (Shell scripting, PowerShell, Python, etc.)
  • Experience with different operating systems
  • Problem solving, flexibility, curiosity, collaboration

Nice to have

  • Previous experience in an Agile environment – Scrum/Kanban
  • Previous experience with project migrations (eg. Jenkins-Gitlab CI, AWS-Azure, Clearcase-Git, etc.)
  • Good knowledge of DevSecOps tools (SonarQube, Coverity, etc)
  • Infrastructure as Code related skills
  • Experience with Ansible
  • Kubernetes certifications (CKA/CKAD/CKS)
  • Clearcase versioning system competencies – highly appreciated
