About us

The Institute of Sport, Exercise and Health (ISEH) is one of world's leading institutes for sports and exercise medicine, and is one of three locations forming the National Centre for Sport and Exercise Medicine (NCSEM), a major legacy project of the 2012 London Olympic Games. A £10 million investment by the Department of Health allowed The ISEH to build a dedicated state-of-the-art facility in the centre of London to deliver world-class research, teaching, training and clinical expertise in sport and exercise medicine.

About the role

The post is a partnership between University College London (UCL), The Concussion Foundation (CF) and the International Concussion and Head Injury Research Foundation (ICHIRF).

The post will be based at the Institute of Sport, Exercise and Health (ISEH) on UCL’s Bloomsbury campus, under the Faculty of Medical Sciences. You will work in close collaboration with the Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience (ICN), part of the faculty of Brain Sciences, and with UCL Engineering.

Role specific details:

  • This is a full-time, fixed-term role for 12 months in the first instance
  • Salary will be £44,480per annum inclusive of London Allowance

About you

The post holder will have the following:

Essential:

  • Higher academic degree e.g. PhD, or evidence of an equivalent level of attainment in research publications
  • A track record of scholarly publication and contribution to conferences in the field of cognitive neuroscience, physical activity, data science, engineering, brain imaging or related fields.
  • Expertise in analysing MRI and fMRI Brain imagingGood organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience in data analytics, statistical analysis and in programming (such as MatLab, R, Python)
  • Ability to write papers for high quality peer-reviewed scientific journals
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, taking responsibility for setting and meeting targets
