Job Description:
The Oregon Department of Corrections is currently recruiting for an Oregon Way Administrator (Operations & Policy Analyst 3) position. This position is based at ODOC Headquarters in Salem, Oregon, and is approved for a hybrid work schedule, combining in-office and remote work. This opportunity is being offered as a job rotation or developmental assignment for a duration of 6 months. To be eligible, you must be a current employee of ODOC, BOPPPS, or OCE (contract workers are not eligible).
The primary purpose of this position is to manage the Oregon Way initiative and ongoing responsibilities’ to ensure the long-term sustainability of this project. This position will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling multiple activities to reduce the debilitating health effects on persons that live or work in a prison. The position serves as the agency’s executive advisor to agency managers, the Operations Assistant Director, the Agency Deputy Director, and the Agency Director, making key decisions related to program implementation, training, research, reporting, and funding requests. This position will be responsible for the development and implementation of agency policies for this program that will ensure a successful implementation and sustainability of how the agency conducts human centered correctional practices.

This position is located at Oregon Department of Corrections Headquarters in Salem, Oregon. This position is approved to work a hybrid schedule of in-office and remote work. Frequent travel by car and airplane, inside and outside of Oregon. Regular visitation and inspection of all institutional programs and areas. This position requires work inside a secure adult correctional facility and may encounter angry, hostile, or abusive adults-in-custody which could result in personal physical injury, becoming a hostage, or death. The employee is subject to call back in the event of an emergency.

The salary range listed above is for non-PERS qualifying applicants. PERS qualifying applicants may be eligible for an adjusted range to reflect an additional 6.95%.

The successful candidate for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility.
