Position Overview

This position is an exciting opportunity for an engaged software engineer to join a dynamic team of developers at Autodesk in Germany developing the high-end visualization software VRED™.

VRED™ 3D visualization software enables automotive designers and engineers to create product presentations, design reviews, and virtual prototypes with highly realistic materials, physical camera settings, engineering tools, and even surface analysis modes. Visualize your ideas, evaluate your design, and move from physical to virtual prototypes in real time.

The successful candidate with interests in computer graphics, virtual/augmented reality or high performance computing will be responsible to develop new functionality and maintain existing C++ code. This includes the software design, high-quality implementation and maintenance of features in according with product design specifications.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with product management, experience design, and engineering to ensure that products, services, and capabilities are designed and created to meet business requirements and exceed customer expectations
• Design, prototype, implement, test and troubleshoot XR workflows

according to market requirements and product specifications

• Communicate, understand and clarify requirements and schedule for different tasks and projects of diverse scope and complexity
• Continuously test, debug, and profile software on supported XR devices

Minimum Qualifications

• MS or higher in Computer Science or related technical discipline
• 5-8 years' experience in software development
• Experience with AR, VR and MR
• Programming skills in C++ 17 or higher and good understanding of OO methodologies
• Experience in computer graphics programming
• Strong analytical capability and fast-learning ability
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English
• Understanding in Agile development processes like Scrum and Kanban

Preferred Qualifications

• Cross platform experience (Windows and Linux) is desirable
• Development experience with Vulkan, GLSL, Cuda, OpenGL or ray tracing
• Knowledge of AI/ML fundamentals, algorithms, and related concepts
• Knowledge of Autodesk Alias, Autodesk VRED, or other computer aided industrial design or 3D visualization software is a plus
• Familiarity with automotive design and visualization is a plus
