Summary

As a Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Automation Engineer specializing in web applications, your role will be central to ensuring the high quality and reliability of our web platforms. You will focus on designing, developing, and maintaining robust automated test suites, and establishing best practices in web application testing. A key responsibility will be to identify, document, and triage issues, working closely with development teams to ensure a seamless user experience.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scripts for web applications, with a primary focus on using Playwright.
  • Developing comprehensive test plans to ensure thorough verification and validation of web application functionalities across various browsers and devices.
  • Collaborating closely with front-end and back-end development teams to understand new features and identify testable components.
  • Performing in-depth troubleshooting of web application defects, analyzing logs, and leveraging developer tools for root cause analysis.
  • Finding, isolating, documenting, and validating software defects using internal testing tools and sound testing methodology.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of our CI/CD pipelines by integrating automated tests.

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • At least 2+ years of experience in automated and manual software testing for web applications.
  • Prior experience in writing formal test plans for web applications that control embedded systems.
  • A minimum of 2 years of programming experience in JavaScript/TypeScript for test automation.
  • Proven expertise in building and maintaining automated test suites using Playwright. Experience with Selenium is also beneficial.
  • Experience with source code control, build, and CI/CD toolchains, specifically Git/GitHub, and familiarity with tools like Jenkins, CircleCI, GitLab CI/CD, or similar.
  • Desirable: Knowledge of React.js or other modern JavaScript frameworks, and an understanding of how these frameworks impact testing strategies.
  • Familiarity with web development concepts, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and RESTful APIs.
  • Experience with Jira and TestRail, or similar project and test management applications.
  • You have experience in an Agile/Scrum environment, including planning time-bound testing within Sprints.
  • You have a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • You have high level of initiative and ability to work independently as well as within a team setting
  • You enjoy hands-on testing, with a ‘tinkerer/builder’ mindset
