Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain 3-Axis, 4-Axis, and 5-Axis CNC machines, specifically vertical milling machines.
• Perform complex blueprint interpretations to ensure precise machining of components.
• Utilize machine controls such as Fanuc or Heidenhain for efficient operation.
• Program or edit G-Code to achieve desired machining outcomes.
• Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and maintain high-quality standards.
• Work with various materials including alloys, stainless steel, titanium, and plastics.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Essential Skills

• 2 years of experience performing setups/operation on 3 to 4 axis CNC machinery.
• Ability to utilize Fanuc controls to perform setups and make edits to G and M code.
• Understand the process of GD&T (Geometric Dimension & Tolerance).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience performing setups and/or operating Makino T1.
• Ability to machine titanium.
• Background in machining for the Aerospace, Military, and Defense industries.
• Education or training in CNC machining.

Work Environment

Our facility operates on 5 10-hour shifts. We have openings for 1st Shift (6am - 4:30pm) and 2nd Shift (4:30pm - 2:30am). Overtime is currently about 10 hours a week. The work environment is climate-controlled, with around 100 CNC machines across three facilities. We are ITAR compliant and maintain an open-door policy, encouraging employees to engage and ask questions across departments.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wheeling, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
