YOUR IMPACT:
Reporting to the Sr Manager, Contracts, the Sr Contracts Manager will provide commercial and contractual support to the WW Renewals Organization for prospective and renewing License, Support, SaaS, Partner, and OEM agreements in accordance with OpenText standards.
In this role, the successful candidate will be key member of the Support Contracts team, working with business leaders and supporting teams throughout the company to advise on new and renewing contracts to achieve desired outcomes. You must bring exceptional critical analysis, business judgement and creativity to your daily role and have a track record of collaborating and thriving in a fast-paced, team environment.
WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS:
- Driving results by taking the lead in addressing queries or issues with contract terms, engaging other teams as necessary to ensure required stakeholders are involved at the right time.
- Independently interpreting contractual clauses, and engaging in contract negotiations with existing and prospective customers.
- Sourcing data & documents for deal reviews, to include analysis of deal structure including pricing, commercial and revenue-impacting terms.
- Point of escalation for urgent revenue impacting issues and engaging with senior OT management as needed.
- Support & mentor team members with contract review/negotiation as required.
- Identifying and executing on opportunities to streamline & improve existing Renewals practices.
- Drafting, reviewing and tracking agreements, in accordance with defined policies and business standards.
- Reprioritizing plans to adapt to changing circumstances and needs of the business.
- Effectively engaging and building cooperative relationships with cross functional teams to drive alignment and optimal business outcomes.
- Lead. support and assist on special projects or other areas within the team or department initiatives as assigned.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
- Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in business or contracting, or equivalent experience in a Sales and Renewals environment.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills along with analytical and problem-solving abilities are imperative.
- Additional language skills would be a bonus but not a prerequisite.
- Prior experience dealing with business deal risk analysis and revenue recognition concepts, contract review & negotiation (in English or other languages), and general business acumen, preferably within the technology industry or related field.
- Business and Legal background with advanced skills in deal modeling, contract preparation, negotiation, drafting and interpretation of a wide variety of agreements. Experience in areas including technology and partner agreements would be considered an asset.
- Proven ability to interact effectively with all levels of the company to achieve results.
- Attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and quality, with ability to multi-task effectively.
- Strong capabilities and expertise in Microsoft Office 365.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Experience contracting with international, Government and regulated bodies a plus.
- Ability to identify issues and determine when escalation to management is required, and mentor other team members on same.
- Willingness to take on challenges and new objectives.
- Ability and desire to work well within a high pressure, fast-paced, high-energy, dynamic environment.
