Job Summary:

The Production Planner, schedules, orders and coordinates the delivery of materials, equipment and services used in product manufacturing according to the master production plan. Controls the inventory of assigned production parts in accordance with management objectives. Expedites requirements as needed. Resolves problems with assigned production parts/materials, equipment or supplier orders. As a cross-functional team member, represents supply base and takes actions necessary to support quoting, production, cost savings initiatives, quality/complaint investigations and other supply chain related activities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Follows all GMP and SOP’s as defined by Viant Medical policies, practices and procedures to insure that FDA and ISO regulations and quality standards are met
  • Works with Site Master Scheduler in the review and updating of the Master Production Schedule and updates production plans for their assigned areas as required.
  • Generate and maintain effective daily and weekly schedules
  • Collaborate with Customer Service and Master Scheduler to review any supply chain strategies.
  • Use the sites ERP systems to analyze and create enhanced functionality in manufacturing & Planning applications
  • Responsible for determining the daily capacity for their assigned work centers, as well as driving the production schedule to improve production attainment and adherence.
  • Be able to multitask and provide quick responses to production problems
  • Support Business Development initiatives with current or potential customers.
  • Develop and Improve procedures & best Practices for Production Scheduling.
  • Leads and participates within functional projects as required
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

Knowledge/Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain, Operations Management or related field preferred
  • APICS Certification preferred, but not required

Job Experience:

  • 3 - 5+ years planning experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Overall experience within the medical device manufacturing field or in any other regulated industry
  • ORACLE / KINAXIS is preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in medical device industry highly desirable
  • 3-5 years experience in production scheduling, ERP/MRP systems
  • Experience Production Control, Inventory Management, MRP/MPS

Physical Requirements:

  • Typical office environment: long periods of sitting, standing, using hands to perform computer work

Some occasional lifting up to 25 pounds may be required
