Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Workday Functional Analyst to support and enhance our Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) system. The Workday Functional Analyst will demonstrate high proficiency in system knowledge, process analysis, and configuration abilities of the Workday platform. This role will provide functional and testing support to the stakeholders and is responsible for business requirements, system configuration, testing, enhancement, deployment efforts, adoption, change management, and continuous improvement. Additionally, this individual will serve as a liaison for the operational teams they support, third-party vendors, and IT. This person will collaborate daily with key stakeholders to define, prioritize and execute solutions in Workday. The person in this role will also be a thought partner with our leadership, key stakeholders, peers and the larger enterprise community to achieve our strategic priorities of enhancing our workday offerings and experience. They will have a focus on ensuring seamless implementation and optimization of the processes by designing, configuring, testing and supporting the system across all Workday Modules. The ideal candidate will have deep functional knowledge of Workday HCM and a strong track record of driving process improvements through technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Requirements: Meet with stakeholders to create and maintain detailed business requirements for requested changes related to business processes and translate them into functional specifications for Workday configuration
  • System Design and Configuration: Configure Workday modules and provide subject matter functional expertise for project and day-to-day support and development needs.
  • System Testing: Provide support or work with stakeholders to test the features, use cases, stories, enhancements etc.
  • User Training and Support: Provide support or work with stakeholders to determine resolution/remediation of system-related issues and comprehensive end-to-end user training on Workday Finance functionalities.
  • Change Management: Collaboration with project teams to manage changes effectively by communicating updates, addressing concerns, and ensuring smooth transition of functionality and enhancements to the Workday Financial system.
  • Maintain awareness of Workday's future releases and roadmap, and the potential impact of these plans on current and future Workday functionality. Ensure that day-to-day systems support is balanced with strategic enhancements and projects.
  • Security: Define and manage user roles and permissions for Workday users.
  • Testing: Responsible for the thorough testing and analysis of new Workday features and functionality with direct accountability for regression testing, user acceptance testing, and sign-off for new enhancements and project work.
  • Support Change Management, Adoption, and Continuous Improvement activities in partnership with the stakeholders.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Education and Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in HR, Finance, Business, MIS, or related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on Workday experience in a functional analyst or similar role.
  • Proven Workday functional expertise – an awareness of what Workday can and cannot do is required.
  • Experience creating and maintaining workflows, UIs, reports, security permissions, and administrative tasks in Workday is required.
  • Ability to navigate challenges independently with strong prioritization skills and good judgment required.
  • Be able to translate business processes into creative technical solutions required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Workday Pro or Partner Certification in relevant modules.
  • 2-5 years of experience with functional configuration of the Workday platform supporting a mid to large-sized organization is required.
  • 3-5 years of previous experience in HR, financial, ERP applications, and process preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in a requirement gathering role, such as Business Analyst or Systems Analyst, is preferred.
  • Experience with HR operations and best practices across the employee lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with compliance and audit requirements related to HR systems (e.g., SOX, GDPR).
  • Exposure to Workday integrations and cross-functional collaboration with technical teams.

Work Environment
