Who are we hiring?

The Technical Project Manager is responsible for delivering technology projects of medium to high complexity across Madison Square Garden Entertainment and Sports. The Technical Project Manager will collaborate with team members to plan, design, and execute projects of strategic importance to the organization.

What will you do?

  • Ensure Technology projects are completed on time, within budget, and with value-added results.
  • Oversee and prepare enterprise technology plans and budgets for all functions within the Technology organization.
  • Create, maintain, and distribute project documentation, meeting minutes and deliverables on a timely basis using ServiceNow PPM, Confluence, and Jira.
  • Develop project plans based on requirements, scope, budget, and required deliverables.
  • Communicate with management to ensure risks are properly addressed and escalated as necessary
  • Maintain effective and frequent communication with project sponsors, resources and management around project status, budget, scope, and timeline.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for continuous improvement in overall project management approach.
  • Use influence and insights to help the business achieve its goals and to make appropriate use of Technology resources.
  • Develop strategic plans linked to MSG’s business plans so that Technology’s capabilities are responsive to the needs of the enterprise.
  • Partner with the Sr. Director, Technology Project Management to develop and implement PMO processes and policies.
  • Work with other department leaders to define, prioritize, and develop projects and programs.

What do you need to succeed?

  • BA/BS in business, IT, business or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+years’ experience as a project manager with a background in Information Technology or PMO experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certifications are a plus.
  • Experience planning, budgeting, and managing projects.
  • Experience in managing complex upgrades and implementations to financial or other transactional back office-based systems.
  • Experience in managing cloud migration projects.
  • Experience in software development projects like agile, waterfall, and hybrid methodologies.
  • Experience negotiating software contracts and professional services required.
  • Experience leading a team of service-oriented technology professionals in a complex environment
  • Experience with Microsoft technologies, specifically SharePoint, as well as physical security systems, including Genetec.
  • Experience in the entertainment or sports industry preferred.
  • Ability to work independently to troubleshoot and problem solve.
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and open to learning new ways of working.
  • Ability to be a reliable team member, capable of effective collaboration to achieve our shared goals across teams and departments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, tailoring the message based on the purpose, audience, and channel.
  • Ability to embrace change with a flexible mindset, even if the way forward isn’t clear

Pay Range

$96,000—$150,000 USD
