3rd SHIFT CORRUGATOR OPERATOR

$19.06 – $21.43/hour. This is a full-time position, 3rd Shift: Sunday evening to Friday morning with overtime required when necessary, including some weekends.

We are seeking a skilled and highly motivated Corrugator Operator to join our team. The Corrugator Operator is responsible for all activities associated with running the single-facer and assisting in wet-end and dry-end operations, including setup, operation, cleanup, and recommending improvements to optimize production and quality.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Prior work experience in the corrugated industry is essential.
  • Good work history is required
  • At least 6 months of experience on the dry end of the corrugator, and/or Doublebacker Operator is preferred.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate the single-facers to achieve the highest levels of production and quality.
  • Verify wet end line-ups to ensure correct roll stock is received and utilized.
  • Load rolls of paper into mill roll stands, ensuring proper size and grade of paper, and execute splices and paper changes as needed.
  • Trim only the necessary amount of paper from rolls when preparing for splices.
  • Remove roll stock from the machine when required, accurately marking the size, grade, diameter, and lineal footage on the roll, and inserting core plugs in each end of butt rolls.
  • Continuously monitor the board during runs to maintain quality and make necessary adjustments.
  • Submit maintenance work orders to supervision for required repairs.
  • Clean starch pan, glue roll, and single-facer area after changing flutes and at the end of the production week.
  • Remove all paper from cores of stub rolls.
  • Assist in the wet end training of Doublebacker and dry end personnel.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety protocols and maintaining excellent housekeeping standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and follow instructions on factory masters.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy. Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate. Able to apply concepts of high school math.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • The individual must have a working knowledge of the following:
  • Equipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation. This also supports the supervisor's role of teacher and trainer for his/her personnel.
  • Cost issues in order to make daily decisions that will reduce overall costs and will help the supervisor find areas that require improvement.
  • Quality standards.
  • Regulatory requirements including but not limited to wage and hour requirements, environmental and waste minimization, company policies, and personnel requirements including OSHA, DEQ and EEO.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

May be required to maintain a current Lift Truck Operator License.
