Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work together with the production floaters in suppling the following items to the production areas:
  • Supply empty packaging to production areas
  • Supply scrap boxes to production areas.
  • Supply any miscellaneous packaging to all production areas.
  • Return partial gaylords of material to area in which the remaining amount of inventory is being stored. Per work instruction 7.5.5WI002.
  • WIP and Finish goods inventory is to be prepped for transportation to the shipping/receiving warehouse. This includes master labeling, shrink wrapping and staging to be loaded on transfer truck.
  • Only quality audited parts are allowed to be stored in the shipping area.
  • Communication is a vital requirement for the material handling position. At the end of each shift there is a short meeting to discuss any issues that could arise or has been happening.
  • It is required for the material handler and shipping coordinator to work together as a team.
  • Daily and weekend overtime work may be required.
  • Follow all ISO Policies, Procedures, work and job instructions in which you have been trained on. It is your responsibility to ask your supervisor for more training if you do not understand any of these ISO instructions.
  • A suggestion on any improvement ideas is encouraged by all. Please write your suggestion down on a piece of paper and give it to the appropriate department manager.
  • Organization of warehouse staging areas and racks are to be maintained and organized on each shift, everyday. This includes but is not limited to combining partial skids of products onto one skid, removing shrink wrap that has been cut off of a skid, straightening the rows of product, sweeping the floors and emptying trash.

Job and Skill Requirements:

  • The operator is required to have a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Certified on forklifts before operating any equipment.
  • Computer skills, including email, warehouse management system and Microsoft suit is preferred.
  • Handheld RF scanning experience is preferred.
  • Handle multiple tasks at one time and be able to prioritize tasks to get them completed
  • Six months experience operating forklifts and unloading trucks with an excellent safety record.

Safety:

  • Seatbelts are to be worn at all times while operating a lift truck.
  • Safety glasses are required to be worn at all times unless you are outside or inside an office.
  • At the beginning of each shift it is required to fill out a forklift inspection sheet.
  • Safe forklift is required at all times. Any reckless operation will result in termination.
  • Any damage or accidents that happen while at Flex-N-Gate must be reported on a damage form. This form must be completed and turned in the material manager within 12 hours of the accident. A supervisor of the shift must also be notified immediately of the accident.
  • Material handlers are responsible to keep their work environment clean and organized throughout the workday. Blocking and or partially blocking aisle and exits is not allowed at anytime.
  • The employee must occasionally crouch, walk, and lift up to 45 pounds.

ISO 14001 EMS & Safety Awareness Training will be provided during orientation.
