Job Overview:
The IS Sr. Project Manager plays an important role in allowing business executives and stakeholders to bring their business ideas to fruition. This senior-level role requires a strategic thinker with a strong technical background, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of managing cross-functional teams in dynamic environments. With their business, strategy, and technical acumen, the Sr. Project Manager works with business, technology teams, and vendors to manage the gathering of requirements, design/architecture of solutions, and oversee them to completion.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Lead and deliver projects of varying sizes as required by the company.
- Manage complex, enterprise-level projects focused on the full project lifecycle required for the development of in-house applications
- Manage projects by providing day-to-day leadership to analyze their requirements, develop the designs, and implement in-house legacy solutions.
- Monitor and manage project financials, scope, and schedule to ensure project stays on track for assigned projects or portfolio of projects.
- Act as primary day-to-day point of contact for the business and the operational aspects of the project, including a focus on building strong business relationships.
- Facilitate regular status meetings with project team, sponsors, and all stakeholders.
- Assist IS team members in the key project delivery during requirements, design, testing and user acceptance testing sessions.
- Coordinate IS project teams to ensure that business requirements are effectively incorporated into design specifications, multi-platform integrations and data transfers.
- Identifies, assesses, and solves complex business problems for area of responsibility, where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
- Conduct the Business Requirements gathering and To-Be state design workshops.
Additional Responsibilities: This role may also own a portfolio of projects to manage and may manage additional resources.
Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience managing multiple large software implementations – ERP, WMS, OMS, Planning, POS, E-Commerce Systems, etc.
- Strong presentation and communication skills.
- Ability to work both cohesively within a team and effectively as an individual.
- Experience with handling custom development projects and integration with third party cloud-based solutions.
- Professional and confident while maintaining a focus on business success.
- Experience with developing project roadmaps & resource plans across different teams.
- Experience in retail and e-commerce industry.
- Must be detail-oriented, self-organized, be committed to quality and be capable of tracking multiple issues simultaneously.
Preferred Education, Experience and Licenses:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Information Technology, or Management
- 10+ years of progressive experience in IT project management, managing full lifecycle software development projects.
- Demonstrated success in delivering custom-built, in-house applications within enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile, and hybrid methodologies.
