Job Summary:
Uses AutoCAD software to produce complete and accurate design drawings, with oversight from senior designers. Provides support to designers in the process of control panel design, P&IDs, mechanical installation, electrical loop drawings, panel risers, and project as-built documents as well as other drafting/design tasks. Takes direction and seeks guidance from senior designers.
Education and Experience:
- Associate degree in drafting, or other pertinent curriculum combined with relevant technical experience.
- Typically, 2-5 years of experience.
- Proven Track Record: 2+ years as Control Systems CAD Operator or equivalent.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Technical Responsibilities:
- Exhibit proficiency in the use of Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) tools.
- Demonstrate the ability to develop control system drawing packages under the direction of senior designers.
- Develop basic understanding of Information Technology (IT) system, network infrastructure, and computer system design, as it relates to control system integration.
- Detect problems in a timely manner.
- Explore outside sources for potential solutions to problems.
- Use logic, intuition and experience to find appropriate solutions to problems.
- Demonstrate the ability to proof-read self-generated documentation.
- Expert with internal tools and able to troubleshoot issues.
- Exhibit proficiency in Microsoft operating systems and Office tools.
Customer Service:
- Communicate in an effective, positive, and proactive manner with customers, when required.
- Complete assigned tasks accurately, on schedule, and under budget.
- Understand the scope of work assigned to you, identify when issues arise that are beyond that scope, and communicate those issues to the assigned project lead.

Travel required:
- As required, expected to be 0-5%.
