A Day in the Life

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Integration Developer with deep expertise in Confluent Kafka. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing complex integrations across our enterprise systems, enabling secure and scalable data exchange between cloud and on-premise applications.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Design and implement robust integration solutions using Kafka.
  • Collaborate with architects and business analysts to translate functional requirements into technical solutions.
  • Develop, configure, and maintain APIs and event-driven pipelines.
  • Build and monitor data streams using Kafka (topics, producers/consumers, connectors).
  • Design, develop, and maintain Kafka-based solutions for data streaming, microservices, and event-driven architectures
  • Also responsible for ensuring the scalability, reliability, and performance of the Kafka platform, often collaborating with other teams to implement solutions and troubleshoot issues.
  • Perform code reviews, unit testing, and performance tuning.
  • Maintain documentation, design specifications, and technical procedures.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in IT enterprise integration with a Bachelors Degree in engineering or MCA or MSc.
  • Advanced knowledge of Kafka – stream processing, data pipelines, schema registry.
  • Familiarity with REST, SOAP, APIs.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Action).
  • Good understanding of security concepts (OAuth2, JWT, basic auth, etc.).
  • Strong analytical, debugging, and communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of Kafka architecture and its components.
  • Experience with Kafka producer/consumer APIs, Kafka Streams, and Kafka Connect.
  • Familiarity with various programming languages (e.g., Java, Python).
  • Experience with distributed systems and data processing technologies.
  • Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Confluent Control Centre, Log4j).
  • Experience with data integration and ETL processes.
