Essential Job Duties

The primary purpose of the position are listed as follows:

• Make keys via the use of keypunch and duplicating and/or code-generating machines.
• Servicing, repairing, and installing various types of door hardware, including fire-rated and panic exit devices, closers, mortise, and cylindrical locking hardware to accepted manufacturer specifications;
• The position must have the ability to troubleshoot and repair problems with all mechanical and electromechanical hardware
• Working knowledge in key biting’s array for small format master keying, pinning of cores
• Will perform and complete special assignments in a timely manner as assigned by Supervisor.
• Will have the competencies necessary to perform the work assigned.

Minimum Experience/Education

• High School diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.

Department Required Skills

• Must be able to communicate effectively verbally with supervisors and the general public and understand verbal and written instructions and other communications regarding work assignments and other matters.

Required License or Certification

• Must have current NC Locksmith license
• Must have a current NC driver’s license

Anticipated Hiring Range $23.00 per hour
