Works safely to prevent on-the-job injuries by wearing appropriate safety equipment (i.e., glasses, steel-toed shoes, ear plugs, etc.), following safe work practices and operating equipment in compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies and procedures.
Operate a stand up and sit-down rider forklift, as well as a walk behind pallet lift.
Follow all Mold Work Instructions pertaining Hot Pull Checks.
Measure for shift on castings and inspect for defects per customer specifications.
Evaluate quality of hot pulls to customer specifications.
Stock departmental supplies. (Including cores and filters that are needed for specific patterns.)
Assist with stopper rod and ladle replacements, free flows, pattern setup, changeovers, keel blocks, and sample taking.
Provide departmental breaks and relief as needed. (DISA, Utility, Sand Lab, Core Setter, Shakeout, etc. as needed.)
Setup for core jobs and set cores.
Perform various Departmental inventories as needed.
Coordination and movement of pig beds to allow for the pigging of iron.
Departmental and Plant clean up as assigned.
Fills in for DISA operator, shakeout, pattern room and all others as needed within the department. (See functional job descriptions for details.)
Enter data into IT systems and other software to track pertinent data.
Safety and environmental responsibilities and tasks as assigned.
Maintain a clean work environment and be “tour ready”.
Weekend overtime is required.
Experience Required
Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
