ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Lead Configuration Management Engineer to join our team in Doral, FL.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- The Configuration Management Engineer Lead is recognized as a subject matter expert in configuration management, possessing extensive experience and deep technical knowledge in establishing and maintaining the integrity and consistency of complex software and hardware systems throughout their entire lifecycle
- Comprehensive understanding of configuration management principles, coupled with a strong grasp of software development methodologies, IT infrastructure, and industry best practices
- Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of enterprise-level configuration management strategies, processes, and tools, ensuring that all changes to systems are tracked, documented, and validated in a scalable and efficient manner. This includes developing and enforcing advanced configuration management standards, automating complex configuration processes, and managing configuration baselines across diverse systems and platforms
- Demonstrate expertise in industry frameworks such as the Unified Architecture Framework (UAF) and other relevant methodologies
- They possess an in-depth understanding of version control systems, build automation tools, and CI/CD pipelines, and can readily adapt to evolving technology landscapes and prioritize tasks effectively
- They may also contribute to the development and implementation of configuration management training programs, ensuring that teams are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively manage configurations
- The Configuration Management Engineer Lead provides direction and mentorship to subordinate staff
Minimum Qualifications:
- BA/BS in field necessary to assume Configuration Management Engineer Lead or 4 years of additional experience in lieu of a degree.
- 12+ years of experience with 7+ years of experience in configuration management, with a focus on software development and IT infrastructurerelevant Configuration Management Engineer Lead experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in implementing and managing configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef, SaltStack) in complex, enterprise-level environments.
- Strong understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN) and experience with branching strategies and code-merging techniques. Experience with build automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, Maven, Gradle) and continuous integration/continuous (CI/CD) delivery pipelines. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts and tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) and their application in automating infrastructure provisioning and management.
- In-depth familiarity with architectural frameworks, including the Unified Architecture Framework (UAF) and other relevant methodologies.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their configuration management tools and services. Relevant configuration management certifications (e.g., Puppet Professional, Chef Certification) and a commitment to continuous learning and professional development. ITIL Foundation certification or higher, demonstrating knowledge of IT Service Management best practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field, demonstrating advanced knowledge and expertise in configuration management or a related discipline. Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and their integration with configuration management tools and processes.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automating configuration management tasks and extending tool capabilities. Experience with configuration management in a regulated environment (e.g., SOX, HIPAA), demonstrating knowledge of compliance requirements and best practices.
- Experience with agile-informed and Scrum methodologies, enabling effective collaboration and delivery in dynamic environments.
- Advanced configuration management certifications, demonstrating a commitment to professional development and expertise in specific tools or methodologies. Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer) or other relevant cloud platform certifications, demonstrating expertise in cloud-based configuration management.
- Agile certifications (e.g., Certified ScrumMaster), demonstrating knowledge of agile principles and practices and their application in configuration management.
- Experience at a DoD Combatant Command (e.g., SOUTHCOM, NORTHCOM, CENTCOM, CYBERCOM, INDOPACOM, EUCOM, AFRICOM, STRATCOM, TRANSCOM, SOCOM, SPACECOM) or a component is desired.
Clearance Requirements:
- Must have an active Secret clearance.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer
- The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
