Position: Mechanical Assembler

Shift: 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Pay Range: $24–$26 per hour

Location: Tukwila, Washington

Job Type: Contract-to-Hire

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Assembler to join our team in assembling electromechanical systems and sub-assemblies. This role involves hands-on work with powered suspended access equipment and requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble complex mechanical and electrical components with minimal supervision.
  • Meet production targets and cycle times for assembly tasks.
  • Perform functional testing and quality checks on completed assemblies.
  • Use hand and power tools effectively, following both verbal and written instructions.
  • Troubleshoot and repair components as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area using 5S principles.
  • Adapt to various assembly tasks and continuously seek process improvements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical/electrical assembly, installation, or repair.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Skilled in using measuring tools such as tape measures and calibrated instruments.
  • Familiarity with standard work instructions and assembly documentation.
  • Strong understanding of hand and power tools used in manufacturing.
  • Self-driven, detail-oriented, and eager to learn.

Preferred Skills

  • Advanced mechanical assembly capabilities.
  • Experience working from blueprints and schematics.

Work Environment

  • Fast-paced production floor with adjacent welding and metal fabrication areas.
  • Moderate noise levels and active warehouse traffic (forklifts, trucks).
  • Workstations include benches with tools and parts; tasks involve lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, and reaching.
  • Facility may have limited insulation and lighting.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.
