Software Development Engineer in Test, Tech Lead
What does a successful SDET Tech Lead do at Fiserv?
We’re seeking a skilled and proactive SDET Tech Lead to play a key role in driving quality and compliance across our test automation and CI/CD pipelines. In this position, you’ll leverage your deep expertise in both functional and non-functional test automation to ensure the success of our software delivery. You’ll work closely with teams, contributing to high-impact projects and fostering a culture of quality throughout the development lifecycle.
What you will do:
- Lead Strategic Automation & CI/CD Initiatives: Provide expert guidance on test automation frameworks and CI/CD best practices to enhance delivery speed and reliability.
- Champion Quality Standards: Set the bar for quality by conducting thorough code and pull request reviews, promoting a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Inspire Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Encourage bold, forward-thinking approaches that challenge the status quo, aiming to reduce manual effort and accelerate the product development lifecycle.
- Mentor and Empower SDET Talent: Offer hands-on coaching and technical leadership to SDET team members, fostering a high-performing, growth-oriented environment.
- Oversee Test Planning & Quality Assurance: Review and refine existing automation test suites, providing actionable feedback to improve test coverage, maintainability, and effectiveness.
- Ensure Test Execution & Reporting Excellence: Support the team in executing automated tests and delivering clear, insightful Test Closure Reports to inform stakeholders.
- Drive Automation Strategy: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and maintain automated tests that align with business goals and ensure end-to-end traceability.
What you will need to have:
- Strong technical leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills
- 8+ years of experience with CI/CD advanced practices within Azure DevOps or a similar pipeline tool
- 8+ years of experience in performance testing for cloud-based and on-prem platforms.
- 8+ years of experience in building and maintaining native iOS/Android mobile and web automation frameworks (e.g. Playwright, Selenium)
- 5+ years of strong experience in Agile/Scrum using exploratory testing techniques and heuristics
- 5+ years of experience with Charles Proxy, Fiddler, or similar tools
- 5+ years of experience with using Postman, SoapUI, or similar tools
What would be great to have:
- Developer experience in C#, TypeScript, and .NET technologies
- Developer experience in native iOS or Android programming languages.
- Experience in Jira, or similar backlog and defect management tools
- Experience with analytics tools like Dynatrace and Splunk
- Expert in the usage of Pact Contract Testing
- Experience in testing financial applications
