General Description:
NOVA Workforce is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Adjunct PMP Instructor to deliver engaging and effective project management training and exam preparation to adult learners.
NOVA Workforce Adjunct faculty members are responsible for effectively planning and teaching courses in the designated discipline/field of study to students from a variety of academic backgrounds and experiences. Teaching may include a variety of formats: face to face, remote, and online. Teaching load is based on student enrollment and staffing needs. The adjunct faculty contract contains no expectation or guarantee of continued employment.
Duties and Tasks:
- Provide hands-on, guided, test-taking preparation, and differentiated instruction to students enrolled in the courses, as specified in the schedule and course contract.
- Utilize provided course materials, practice tests, etc.
- Conduct efficient and effective classroom management.
- Provide students with an approved syllabus that includes course objectives and learning outcomes, teaching methodology, attendance policies in line with those of the institution, assignments and deliverables, timelines, and evaluation criteria.
- Use the institution’s learning management system to post syllabus, assignments, and other materials and to communicate with students, in a timely manner.
- Deliver course content using a variety of teaching styles and provide interesting and engaging assignments that demonstrate the real-world applications of concepts covered.
- Maintain records of enrollment and attendance, assessments and grades, and submit class rosters and grade sheets by the deadlines established by the department.
- Adhere to the statement on professional ethics in accordance with college and departmental policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Stay relevant on PMI standards and industry trends to ensure course content remains relevant.
- Complete all mandatory training at hiring and annually thereafter.
- Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations of NOVA and the VCCS
Essential Functions:
As a part of the primary responsibility to provide quality instruction, the College expects each faculty member to meet assigned classes regularly; submit required records and reports routinely; teach the prescribed courses of study with the established texts; and adhere to the statement on professional ethics in accordance with College policies, procedures, and regulations.
Minimum Qualifications:
KSA’s:
- Familiarity with remote-synchronous teaching platforms and tools and classroom technology
- Experience in delivering PMP training programs
- Ability to use a variety of teaching methods to promote learning
- Ability to work with a diverse student population
Required Qualifications:
- Current PMP certification from PMI and in good standing
- Prior teaching experience in PMP exam preparation
