The primary purpose of this position is: To provide technical leadership for the Client Services Branch. The Branch is responsible for providing Information Technology (IT) client support services to the users of the Center's three major production and selected secondary networks to include troubleshooting individual user IT incidents/networks.

This is a GG-14 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-14 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-14 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: Knowledge of the creation, development, implementation, and utilization of advanced techniques for signals processing to be responsive to both potential and documented community requirements; and knowledge of computer software support; and in-depth knowledge of the full suite of Windows and UNIX operating systems. Must be a technical authority on distributive computer configurations, software installation, network structures and systems usage to provide the required support to all computer system users and advice to other system analysts. Knowledge of the creation, development, implementation, and utilization of advanced techniques for signals processing to be responsive to both potential and documented community requirements; and knowledge of computer software support; and in-depth knowledge of the full suite of Windows and UNIX operating systems. Must be a technical authority on distributive computer configurations, software installation, network structures and systems usage to provide the required support to all computer system users and advice to other system analysts. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of NASIC IT system operation, maintenance, and security needed to maintain system functionality.
2. Knowledge of NASIC's information classification program, security policies, and standard procedures for information compromise.
3. Knowledge of and experience with the NASIC corporate hardware and software systems; NASIC customer support principals, methods, and procedures for documenting problem resolutions and providing guidance and training to customers; relationship between hardware and software compatibility; and NASIC automated Helpdesk software system and the Helpdesk environment.
4. Skill in identifying possible causes of degradation of system performance or availability and initiating actions needed to mitigate this degradation.
5. Skill in using the appropriate tools for repairing software, hardware, and peripheral equipment of a system. Ability to develop, update, and/or maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs).

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
This position is a Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel Systems (DCIPS) position implemented under Section 504, Title V of Public Law 99-569, Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1987, as codified in Sec 1601, Chap 83 of Title 10 United States Code which sets forth Air Force policies and procedures for DCIPS. This position is in the Excepted Service.
