Job Description

The role involves assembling mechanical units, fabricated parts/components, and electrical/electronic systems to create subassemblies, assemblies, or complete units using hand tools, power tools, jigs, fixtures, and miscellaneous equipment. Responsibilities include fitting, aligning, calibrating, and adjusting parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product operating requirements, as well as repairing units or products that have failed to meet requirements. The position requires knowledge acquired through experience, specialized education, or training.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble mechanical units and fabricated parts/components.
  • Create subassemblies, assemblies, or complete units using appropriate tools and equipment.
  • Fit, align, calibrate, and adjust parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product operating requirements.
  • Repair units or products that have failed to meet requirements.
  • Follow detailed and defined rules and instructions to perform routine and manual tasks.
  • Make simple judgments in straightforward situations.

Essential Skills

  • Basic technical knowledge in own discipline area.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools effectively.
  • Familiarity with jigs, fixtures, and miscellaneous equipment.
  • Understanding of detailed assembly procedures and guidelines.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Assembly experience preferred, ideally 6 months.
  • Experience with medical equipment assembly is beneficial.

Work Environment

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portage, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $18.00/hr.
