CTG is seeking to fill a Software Developer 3 opening for our client in Austin, TX.

Location: Austin, TX (hybrid remote)

Job Type: Hourly Consultant

Job Duration: Short-term with potential to turn long-term

W2 only No C2C

Local candidates only

Duties:

  • Develops software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users, and analyzing systems flow, data usage, and work processes.
  • Investigates problem areas and prepares software solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.
  • Participates in all phases of the software development lifecycle including requirements analysis, high-level and detailed design, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Creates and maintains technical and design documentation as required.
  • Implements contemporary testing methods to ensure application quality and reliability.
  • Provides technical support during testing and implementation efforts.
  • Performs system analysis, troubleshooting, diagnosis, and resolution of software issues.
  • Analyzes software for defects and identifies performance tuning opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills:

  • Agile Scrum and DevOps methodologies
  • GitHub Administration: repository management, branching strategies, access control, workflow automation (e.g., GitHub Actions), governance rule implementation
  • Jira Administration: project configuration, workflow design, automation rules, Agile dashboard/report development, integrations
  • AWS Infrastructure Management: EC2, VPCs, IAM, S3, CloudFormation/Terraform, performance and cost optimization
  • Programming in Python, JavaScript, Angular, Maven
  • Developer IDEs such as Eclipse and IBM Rational Application Developer
  • Asset and service account management
  • BMC Helix ticketing system
  • Preferred: PostgreSQL and Oracle database experience
  • Preferred: Virtual Machine Provisioning/De-Provisioning in Hyper-V or cloud environments

Experience:

  • 8 years – Hands-on experience in administering, configuring, and supporting Atlassian Jira
  • 8 years – Proven ability to administer GitHub Enterprise Cloud
  • 8 years – Proven ability to analyze and resolve complex issues
  • 8 years – Supporting and training end users at all levels
  • 8 years – Experience with Hyper-V server administration, including hardware, backup, and disaster recovery
  • 8 years – Hands-on experience with Continuous Integration/Delivery models
  • 8 years – Experience with tools including Jenkins, Docker, Ansible, OpenShift; WebSphere, JBoss, Tomcat; Maven, Shell, Ruby, Perl, Python; and databases such as Oracle, MySQL, Postgres
  • 8 years – Experience integrating webhooks into GitHub projects to automate compliance checks
  • 5 years – Preferred: Experience with large-scale Agile development projects

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
