Job Description

Emergency Care Business:

In late January, we announced that Bridgefield Capital signed an agreement to acquire Philips’ Emergency Care business which includes leading brands and products like HeartStart AEDs, Intrepid and DFM100 monitor defibrillators, Tempus monitor and Tempus ALS systems, and Corsium and ECI informatics solutions. We expect the transaction to close at the end of 2025.

With Bridgefield’s support and building on our 40+ year legacy of growth and innovation in emergency medical technology, the Emergency Care business will continue passionately pursuing our mission of saving lives, lowering the cost of healthcare, and advancing the science of resuscitation while serving the public access AED, EMS, military, and hospital market segments.

Senior Software Technologist I Embedded Software

  • Design and develop software technological solution, platform or reference (Connectivity etc.).
  • Participate in determining the system, subsystem, and interfaces between them.
  • Validate technology assumptions, evaluate alternatives, and define functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Test and review codes. Work together with global team members.

Your Role:

We are looking for enthusiastic Senior Software Engineers who will work together globally with other engineers in Bothell, USA and with software engineers from Philips Innovation Services Bangalore, India and Eindhoven, The Netherlands. As a Senior Software Technologist, you are responsible for:

  • Designing and implementing the embedded C++ software for the product
  • Participating in requirements definition and design creation, detailing, and documentation
  • Assuring that your software complies to the requested quality norms, participating in design and code reviews, and participating in FMEAs
  • Creating automated unit tests and integration tests within the chosen frameworks
  • Able to estimate own work, delivering input for the planning process and defining and maintaining the own and team’s backlog
  • Drawing up a personal schedule and reporting on progress in a structured way
  • Ensuring that there is proper documentation for the developed software.

You're the right fit if:

  • This position requires a minimum of a BE/B. Tech or ME/M. Tech in Embedded/Electronics/Computer Engineering or equivalent from an accredited university.
  • Design, Code and Test for embedded systems
  • Minimum 12+ years’ experience in Software Design and development in embedded software/firmware.
  • Experience in Programming language C++. Understanding of Object oriented
  • Experience with RTOS and BareMetal (MUST) based Embedded Software.
  • Experience in wireless communications technologies like TCP/IP, UDP, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, BLE, NFC LTE Modem etc.
  • Device drivers - modification and development
  • Hands-on experience on SPI, I2C, PWM, ADC, DAC, PCIe, I2C, eMMC, USB, UARTs as well as Memory Management, Scheduling, Interrupts and multi-threading
  • Microprocessor/Microcontroller development – Strong Knowledge and working experience on STM, NXP etc. microcontrollers (domain knowledge for designs SW, HW)
  • Peripherals such as PCIe, memory interfaces, OS primitives, memory management, scheduling, interrupts, threading
  • Aware of SDLC. Good grasp of Design Patterns/ Multithreading, Code Reviews
  • Experience in Agile SW Development practices; experience in scaled agile framework (SAFe) is preferred
  • Assuring that your software complies to the requested quality norms, participating in design and code reviews, and participating in FMEAs
  • Participating in requirements definition and design creation, detailing, and documentation
  • Knowledge and application of the following standards and interfaces is preferred
    • communication interfaces (e.g. USB, GPIB, Ethernet, Serial, RS-485, CAN)
    • network standards (e.g. TCP/IP, UDP, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC)
  • Knowledge of Software/Firmware testing methodologies.
  • Experience in version control tools like GitHub , SVN etc.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps tool for backlog and sprint planning.
