Job Overview

We are seeking a versatile and analytical Data Scientist to join our Predictive Data Science team. The successful candidate will demonstrate sophisticated analytics to provide data-driven insights that advise marketing strategies, deliver contextualized customer experiences, and drive business growth. You will work closely with multi-functional teams to analyze consumer behavior, perform advanced statistical techniques on customer data, and develop predictive models that improve decision-making across the organization.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement predictive and prescriptive models to understand consumer behavior, predict responses to marketing offers, and assess impact on customer acquisition, retention, and revenue.
  • Build and refine audience segmentation frameworks to support targeted marketing efforts and fully contextualized customer experiences.
  • Partner with marketing teams to build marketing treatments by unboxing model predictors, articulating specific drivers of customer behavior, and developing cases around adaptable actions.
  • Design experiments to evaluate the efficiency of targeted offers and CRM campaign, using causal inference, attribution modeling, and sophisticated experimentation techniques.
  • Develop statistical dashboards and visualizations that translate sophisticated data into clear, actionable insights for business team members.
  • Collaborate with data engineering teams to ensure robust data pipelines and efficient data access for analysis and modeling.
  • Know the latest with emerging trends in data science, ML, and marketing analytics, and apply innovative techniques to solve business problems.

Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree Quantitative Subject area (math, statistics, economics, computer science, physics, engineering, etc.) (Required)
  • Master's/Advanced Degree Quantitative Subject area (math, statistics, economics, computer science, physics, engineering) (Preferred)
  • 4-7 years Proven experience in predictive modeling, data science, and analysis in an ML engineer or data scientist role building and deploying ML models or hands on experience developing deep learning models Required
  • 4-7 years Experience with data scripting languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R) Required
  • 2-4 years Experience with big data architecture and pipeline, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Kafka, etc. Required
  • 4-7 years of proven ability articulating and translating business questions and using statistical techniques to arrive at an answer using available data Required
  • 4-7 years Experience in data visualization Required
  • 4-7 years Experience working with relational database using SQL
  • 2-4 years Experience in the telecom industry Preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Mathematics Calculus, linear algebra, statistics, and probability (Required)
  • Programming Expertise in Python and SQL (Required)
  • Machine Learning: Expertise applying machine learning concepts and techniques related to supervised and unsupervised learning (Required)
  • Communication Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work with multi-functional teams ()

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in marketing analytics or consumer insights.
  • Familiarity with PySpark and Databricks
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Snowflake).
  • Knowledge of digital marketing channels and tools (e.g., Google Analytics, CRM systems).

Base Pay Range: $106,000 - $191,100

Corporate Bonus Target: 15%

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.

At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
