POSITION: Faculty, ARTC Coordinator, Division of Education (FT)

Effective immediately: (FT) Faculty, ARTC Coordinator – Division of Education – College of Education & Liberal Arts – New Castle.

Requirements: A Master’s degree in education is required. An earned doctorate in education or a related field is preferred. The incumbent must have an active educational leadership or teaching license or be eligible for licensure in the State of Delaware. The incumbent must have up to 3 to 5 years of proven teaching excellence in education, including preparation in teaching and learning principles, including curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation. Demonstrated excellence and commitment to supporting a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment. Established leadership experience in a major academic setting and experience in teaching. Must have excellent customer service skills. Must be a self-starter with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills and have the ability to work independently, but also as a team member. Must be Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Knowledge of Wilmington University database management systems (e.g., Canvas LMS, Banner, BDM, Recruit, or other Microsoft-based Student Information System) is required. Detail-oriented and able to work with diverse populations. Demonstrated knowledge of Zoom and Skype Video Conferencing. Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines in a service-oriented environment with competing demands. Self-directed, independent worker with sound logic and reasoning in identifying alternatives or approaches to problem-solving. Maintains professionalism and confidentiality in all situations. Must demonstrate respect for others in the workplace and a commitment to creating a supportive work environment that values the contributions of all employees.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Collaborate with the Registrar’s Office to monitor and support student progress.
  • Facilitate graduate student advisement and support.
  • Review program applicants and conduct candidate interviews based on program requirements.
  • Create, support, and expand individual and community partnerships in support of the Academic College and its goals.
  • Assist in the operation of program advisory committees.
  • Collaborate with University Relations to promote the visibility and growth of education programs, facilitating relationships with stakeholders and affiliate organizations of interest.
  • Assist Program Chair(s) to manage the overall operations and curriculum of the ARTC academic program(s), ensuring that the programs comply with any internal requirements, such as program review and outcomes assessment, as well as external requirements for approval, accreditation, and licensure.
  • Participate in the annual review process of adjunct faculty within the program(s) in accordance with established procedures, in conjunction with the Program Chair(s).
  • Oversee the syllabi and course template content for each course in the respective graduate program(s), in conjunction with the Program Chair(s).
  • Comply with Wilmington University’s Teaching Expectations document.
  • Teach seven (7) courses in the classroom and online as per faculty contracted course load.
  • Provide forward-thinking, optimistic, and creative leadership for assigned program(s) with the Program Chair(s).
  • Demonstrate high levels of competence in oral and written communications with all stakeholders (students, faculty, staff, administration, and the community).
  • Participate in and attend Academic College and University functions (e.g., faculty meetings, Faculty Senate, commencement).
  • Comply with the Wilmington University Faculty Handbook.
  • Support the Wilmington University Institutional Priorities.
  • Ensure the relevancy of the curriculum remains current and futuristic.
  • Promote and foster a supportive environment for all students, faculty, and staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director and/or Dean of the College.

Hours of Employment: Generally, Monday–Friday from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. with evening hours as required per teaching load/course scheduling. The incumbent must maintain a flexible work schedule to meet the needs of the University and the College. The incumbent’s schedule must be flexible enough to cover both teaching and meeting responsibilities. Travel to other Wilmington University sites is required.

Salary Range: Commensurate with experience.
