The material handler at a utility yard is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials within the facility. This includes loading and unloading trucks, moving materials to designated storage areas, and keeping accurate inventory records. The material handler must be able to operate a forklift and other material handling equipment in a safe manner.

Key responsibilities:

• Safely and efficiently operate forklifts to move materials throughout the yard
• Load and unload trucks, ensuring that materials are safely secured
• Maintain accurate inventory records of materials in the yard
• Assist in the shipping and receiving of materials
• Keep work areas clean and organized
• Follow safety procedures and guidelines at all times
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors

Qualifications:

• Prior experience as a material handler or in a similar role
• Proficiency in operating forklifts and other material handling equipment
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate inventory records
• Good communication and organizational skills
