About this Position

University Planning is seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated Utilities CAFM Technician II to join our team.

This position is responsible for updating existing and generating new electronic floor plans and associated zone and building system drawings as University buildings are modified and new buildings are added to the facilities inventory. Will establish and maintain database links between the University's electronic drawings and the University's CAFM System database. Publishes and disseminates CAFM data and associated facilities drawings. Assists management in developing the University's CAFM System and performs other miscellaneous tasks as needed. Conduct a walk-through with department representatives to verify each department's actual space usage. Note discrepancies between building floor plans and the actual space used. Enter facilities data recorded during the walk-through.

Required Qualifications

  • High School/GED (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
  • Four years related work experience.
  • Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:
  • Have before hire and maintain after hire a valid driver’s license. A valid driver’s license must be maintained for the operation of an OSU vehicle, which is required in the performance of job duties as assigned.
  • AutoCad certification must be obtained within six months of hire.
  • Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:
  • General knowledge of design, layout, and construction techniques used for constructing buildings and building systems. Proficient in AutoCAD software with the capability to learn and utilize other software for drafting building plans and managing electronic building information. Skilled in using Archibus FM CAFM software to input facilities data and manage connections between electronic drawings and the University’s CAFM database. Adept at interpreting technical documents, including construction plans, specifications, and procedural guidelines. Effective communicator in both oral and written forms, with the ability to perform supervisory duties. Possesses a solid understanding of personal computers and Microsoft Office applications. Highly skilled in Excel, with extensive experience in creating and maintaining spreadsheets. Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail. Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using AiMCAD and Archibus.
