We are seeking an Enterprise Architecture Manager – Technology to join Zions Bancorporation. As the Enterprise Architecture Manager, you will lead a team of cloud and technology architects to design, implement, and evolve enterprise engineering practices, disciplines, and technologies with a focus on cloud solutions that align with the organization’s Software development lifecycle practices (SDLC) and strategic business goals. This role will further focus on the entire SDLC to optimize and standardize the enterprise into effective models and repeatable patterns for delivery. You will be responsible for driving cloud adoption, ensuring architectural consistency, and enabling secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud platforms across the organization.

The Enterprise Architecture Manager – Technology will:

  • Lead the development and execution of cloud architecture strategies across public, private, and hybrid environments (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP).
  • Collaborate with enterprise architects, engineering teams, security and business stakeholders to define cloud standards, patterns, and governance models.
  • Guide the team in designing cloud-native solutions that meet SDLC, performance, security, and compliance requirements.
  • Oversee the evaluation and selection of cloud,engineering, and DevOps technologies, tools, and services.
  • Mentor and grow a high-performing team of cloud and technology architects.
  • Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, CCM, and NIST CSF.
  • Support and optimize audits, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance efforts related to cloud infrastructure.
  • Drive innovation by staying current with emerging technologies and industry trends.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in IT, with at least a demonstrated knowledge of cloud architecture and 2+ years in a senior engineering leadership role.
  • Proven experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, ARM, CloudFormation).
  • Strong understanding of security, networking, and identity management in cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven track record with influence of large technology changes at a senior level.
  • Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Professional Cloud Architect are a plus.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.

Pay Range:

$160,000 – $220,000 (Based upon relatable skills/experience)

Work Location:

This position can be located 100% remote within the United States or will be a hybrid work schedule (3 days a week in office) if you are within 50 miles of the new Zions Technology Center in Midvale, UT.

The Zions Technology Center is a 400,000-square-foot technology campus in Midvale, Utah. Located on the former Sharon Steel Mill superfund site, the sustainably built campus is the company’s primary technology and operations center.
