We are seeking an Enterprise Architect - Cloud to join Zions Bancorporation.

As an Enterprise Architect focused on Cloud, you will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions that align with enterprise architecture standards and business objectives. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define cloud strategies, evaluate emerging technologies, and ensure best practices in cloud adoption and governance.

The Enterprise Architect – Cloud will:

  • Design and implement cloud-native and hybrid architectures across platforms such as Azure, AWS, and GCP.
  • Develop and maintain cloud architecture blueprints, standards, and reference models.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, DevOps, engineering, and infrastructure teams to ensure secure and compliant cloud deployments and strategies.
  • Evaluate and recommend cloud services, tools, and frameworks to support business needs and support architectural patterns.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams on cloud best practices.
  • Participate in architecture reviews and ensure alignment with frameworks like TOGAF, CCM, and NIST CSF.
  • Support audits, risk assessments, and compliance initiatives related to cloud infrastructure.
  • Be instrumental in creating architectures, designs, and roadmaps for migration of existing enterprise applications to the cloud.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in IT, with at least 2 years in cloud architecture roles.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, ARM, CloudFormation).
  • Strong understanding of cloud security, networking and identity management.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, software delivery patterns, and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes).
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Professional Cloud Architect are preferred.
  • Strong ability to communicate, present, and influence on technical subjects.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Pay Range:

$130,000 – $200,000 (Based upon relatable skills/experience)

Work Location:

This position can be located 100% remote within the United States or will be a hybrid work schedule (3 days a week in office) if you are within 50 miles of the new Zions Technology Center in Midvale, UT.

The Zions Technology Center is a 400,000-square-foot technology campus in Midvale, Utah. Located on the former Sharon Steel Mill superfund site, the sustainably built campus is the company’s primary technology and operations center. This modern and environmentally friendly technology center enables Zions to compete for the best technology talent in the state while providing team members with an exceptional work environment with features such as:
