Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) Space, Intelligence and Weapon Systems (SI&WS) Ground and Mission Systems Engineering (GMSE) is seeking a Senior Ground Systems Engineer (Level 5) to join our team in El Segundo, California.

The SI&WS GMSE division creates the next generation products and services for the BDS business unit. We work with both commercial and proprietary customers in the development of the next-generation technologies in space. Our team focuses on rapid prototyping to demonstrate a host of mission-focused technologies for a variety of customers. Our group works all facets of engineering from technology investment, concept development, proposal writing, requirements, design, build, integration, test, and demonstration of products in their relevant environments.

The Senior Ground Model Based Systems Engineer will join a high-performing team that is immersed in high intensity development projects. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work proprietary programs for U.S. government customers who are responsible for exciting advanced technology national security missions.

Position Responsibilities:

• Provide subject matter expertise to implement Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) concepts on a MILSATCOM program.
• Work collaboratively with multi-disciplined engineering teams across the program to understand their engineering needs and translate them into MBSE concepts.
• Develop processes, work instructions, and templates for deploying engineering analyses in the system architecture models.
• Capture system requirements traceability within the system architecture models.
• Analyze system architecture models, mission threads, and use case scenarios to derive system CONOPS.
• Develop and manage program specific MBSE tools, processes, and architectures.
• Establish process for integration of engineering tools with MBSE.
• Mentor Systems Engineers in MBSE processes and tools.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
• 10+ years of experience with Systems Engineering processes and principles such as system architecture, interface definition, and requirements definition, decomposition, verification, and validation
• 5+ years of experience leading engineering teams
• 5+ years of experience creating MBSE systems models in CAMEO, Magic Systems of Systems Architect (MSOSA), or similar software
• 5+ years of experience in requirements management using DOORS
• Experience with MBSE-derived CONOPS requirements development, interface control documentation, technical specification review, architecture development

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• 15+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• 10+ years of experience in Ground Systems Engineering
• Experience with Cost Account Management (EVMS)
• Experience with JIRA and Confluence
• Experience working with Government customers

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $157,250 - $212,750
