Overview
This role is a 12 Month maternity cover role to support R&D Social Beverages Innovation in Cork. The incumbent would support the team across some of the following areas; Sample Management and documentation, Lab management, Innovation, Renovation, Productivity and Technical Brand Stewardship activities.
Responsibilities
- Manage day to day lab activities for social bev team, ensuring all consumables and materials are available for the team to execute sample production.
- Work closely with PGCS and external suppliers/vendors to manage and source materials required to support product development – including materials for larger scale TC trials.
- Conduct and support product development lab work with project managers (sample preparation, verify process instructions, filling etc.).
- Manage and support stability testing across Productivity CSD Energy and Hydration platforms – developing stability schedules, managing sample storage, completing testing, documenting results and reporting to project managers on a regular basis.
- Represent Social beverages team on weekly site Lab captains meetings, and manage communications back to Social beverage team – leading any follow up actions.
- Support TC trials – attend trial production , support TC team in production runs and manage labelling and packing of samples for consumer test field work in the Region.
- Support product and ingredient registration for markets or customs unions.
- Organize and manage Hazardous shipment samples of product market requests.
- Manage ownership of files documenting new launches along with formula information across Europe e.g. ESSA File, Dual Quality, manage and update as a live document.
- Ensure all batches are manufactured as per R&D Manufacturing Instructions and in adherence to R&D EHS and Quality & Food Safety systems.
- Ensure safe working practices are carried out on all tasks and contribute/support EHS Campus programs and activities.
- Liaise with onsite maintenance team to co-ordinate planned preventative maintenance lab based activities.
Qualifications
- Degree in Food Science /Chemistry / Microbiology / Engineering or related discipline.
- Good knowledge of basic chemistry and nutrition.
- Lab experience/Product development experience and advantage.
- High degree of initiative, drive and motivation – working independently as well as a team player.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong interest in Food and the Food Industry, Innovation and product development.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point).
- Understanding of instrumentation.
- Excellent people skills with the ability to work well with others.
- Flexible working style - able to deal with uncertainty and complexity.
