As a Talent Generalist you will support Talent Business Partners in developing and executing Human Resource initiatives in different areas of the business, focusing on organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, and talent relations. In addition, you will support process improvement and standardization through implementation of technology and data-driven proposals. To be successful in this role, you must understand business priorities and translate them into the highest impact of work. You will help in identifying actions that improve performance, retention, and the overall employee experience. To succeed, you will need a flexible skill set, including the ability to critically assess situations, drive solutions with determination, and collaborate across many teams, levels, and situations.

As Abarca’s Talent Generalist, you’ll assist in aligning and supporting middle management within the organization to implement HR strategies that enhance organizational and employee effectiveness. You will learn to understand business priorities and help translate them into actionable HR initiatives. Additionally, you will work closely across the Talent Strategy division to support and promote Abarca’s culture by helping integrate our Values, Competencies and Talent Processes into various aspects of the employee experience.

The fundamentals for the job…

• Work with Talent Business Partners to comprehend business objectives and challenges, and implement initiatives, policies, and procedures that support business improvements.
• Assist management in HR matters, including employee engagement and talent relations.
• Act as a partner for Talent departments, delivering initiatives and processes to business areas and providing insight.
• Supports the Culture and Talent Operation team in delivering the agenda, with attention to detail and providing the necessary documentation and follow-up to ensure the team achieves its goals.
• Understands the talent system and each stage of the employee lifecycle, applying this knowledge to propose integrated solutions supported by various talent programs.
• Promote process improvements and consistency across the team, developing new methods to enhance efficiency.
• Help adapt our programs to address the evolving needs of roles in relation to market trends and area requirements.
• Analyze data and metrics to develop solutions and assess program impact.
• Focus on solutions and be comfortable working in an environment that demands effective and efficient delivery, while identifying problems and driving appropriate solutions.
• Exhibit a bias for action, an excellent work ethic, and a drive to achieve excellence.
• Operate with discretion, confidentiality, taking a hands-on approach and actively monitoring employee engagement levels.
• Thrive in a rapidly changing and complex work environment.
• Research and incorporate industry best practices and ideas from other disciplines.

What we expect of you

The bold requirements…

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related area. Business Administration majors preferred. (In lieu of a degree equivalent experience can be considered)
• 3+ years of Human Resources Generalist experience.
• Experience supporting employee relations.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is required.
• We are proud to offer a flexible hybrid work model, which will require 2-3 on-site workdays (Puerto Rico Location Only).
• This position requires availability to work in a specified time zone or working schedule, accommodating the business needs of our clients and team members.
• This position requires availability for on-call hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to promptly address emergent issues or provide necessary support as dictated by operational demands.

Nice to have…

• Broad experience and specific knowledge of human resource theory, including employee relations and performance management.
• Deep understanding of "what great HR looks like" and how business cycles influence the “people” agenda.

Physical requirements…

• Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
• Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
