Research description
The solar astrophysics laboratory is seeking temporary help with testing X-ray detectors, performing electronics assembly and testing, and other miscellaneous laboratory tasks. The laboratory builds solar-dedicated instruments that measure X-rays from the Sun to investigate energy release in solar flare.
Job duties
This position will be responsible for the following duties: 50% setting up and carrying out X-ray detector tests; 25% documentation of the tests; 25% electronics assembly, testing, and cable making. Other duties of a similar scope as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Needs to have BA/BS in Physics, Astrophysics, or and Engineering discipline.
Needs to have 1 year of experience of laboratory-based research
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred experience with X-ray detectors
Preferred experience or coursework in electronics design or analysis

Pay Range: $18.00/hour to $22.00/hour depending on education/qualifications/experience.
