Job Title: Machinist

Job Description

This role involves training machine operators in understanding the form and function of equipment, including Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). The machinist will apply tooling knowledge to cut various materials and is responsible for setting up and operating machinery.

Responsibilities

  • Train machine operators to understand equipment form and function, including TPM.
  • Apply tooling knowledge for cutting different types of materials.
  • Set up and operate machinery efficiently.
  • Build work instructions to ensure proper operation of machinery and equipment.
  • Adjust machinery settings to improve performance as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve machinery issues.
  • Perform quality checks and maintain accurate records.
  • Report any problems to the supervisor.
  • Utilize basic hand measuring tools, roamer arm, and height gauge for reporting control.
  • Comply with all safety and health regulations and maintain cleanliness in the work area.
  • Clean and maintain machinery.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in CNC machine, CNC machining, CNC mill, and CNC lathe operations.
  • Ability to build from print and start machinery.
  • Experience with 4 3-axis lathe spots, 1 horizontal mill, and 3 5-axis lathe.

Work Environment

Work in a climate-controlled facility with shifts mainly on overnights, but also some first shifts. Be prepared for 12-hour shifts starting in July/August.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of St. Louis, Missouri.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $40.00/hr.
