YOUR IMPACT

The Sales Technical Lead is responsible for planning, designing, and leading application solution design with an emphasis on end-to-end data migration strategies into Salesforce from legacy or external systems. This role ensures high solution and data quality, integrity, and performance, while managing tasks for technical teams of developers and analysts.

WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS

Migration Strategy & Planning

  • Define and own the Salesforce data migration roadmap aligned to project phases.
  • Analyze source systems, assess data complexity, and plan extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) strategies.
  • Lead data profiling, gap analysis, and mapping workshops with business and technical teams.

Technical Leadership

  • Lead a team of developers, analysts, and data engineers through migration execution.
  • Review data models, object relationships, and ensure alignment with Salesforce architecture.
  • Ensure adherence to Salesforce best practices and enterprise data policies.

Data Mapping & Transformation

  • Design and validate mapping between legacy systems and Salesforce objects (standard and custom).
  • Implement transformation logic for field-level conversions, deduplication, enrichment, and normalization.
  • Maintain detailed field mapping and business rules documentation.

ETL Development & Execution

  • Lead ETL design using tools like Informatica, Talend, MuleSoft, Jitterbit, or custom scripts (Python, SQL).
  • Oversee development of migration scripts, APIs, and batch jobs for large data volumes.
  • Ensure performant and scalable data loads using Salesforce Bulk API, Data Loader, Workbench, etc.

Data Quality & Validation

  • Establish data validation rules and pre-load/post-load reconciliation mechanisms.
  • Run mock loads, trial migrations, and conduct UAT with business stakeholders.
  • Coordinate error handling, rollback plans, and data integrity checks.

Environment & Cutover Management

  • Plan and manage data loads across development, test, staging, and production orgs.
  • Own cutover activities and production data migration readiness checks.
  • Work with release managers to align data migration with deployment cycles.

Documentation & Knowledge Transfer

  • Maintain detailed documentation including data dictionaries, migration approach, and audit logs.
  • Provide training and handover to operations teams for post-migration support.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • 8–12+ years in enterprise data projects, with 4+ years in Salesforce data migration
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce Data Loader, APIs, SOQL, and Bulk API
  • Expertise in at least one ETL/Integration tool (Informatica, MuleSoft, Talend, Boomi, etc.)
  • Proficient in SQL, data profiling, and large-volume data handling (LDV best practices)
  • Experience with multiple full-cycle Salesforce migration projects (Sales, Service, CPQ, etc.)

Preferred Certifications

  • Salesforce Certified Data Architecture and Management Designer
  • Salesforce Platform Developer or Administrator Certification
  • ETL tool certifications (e.g., Informatica PowerCenter, MuleSoft Developer)
