Job Title: Lead Software Engineer (Contingent)

Location: Charlotte, NC – 300 S Brevard St (Onsite)

Contract Length: Through 10/2025 (target deliverable date for initial migration)

Pay Range: $65-70/hour

Top Requirements

  1. 5+ years of Java and Spring Framework experience
  2. 5+ years of Object-Oriented development and design patterns
  3. 3+ years of SQL and REST API development
  4. Experience leading end-to-end software delivery and migration projects

Plusses

  1. Experience with Jenkins, OpenShift, and Agile methodologies
  2. Capital Markets or Investment Banking experience
  3. Familiarity with GitHub Copilot or similar GenAI tools

Job Summary

This contingent Lead Software Engineer role supports the SPECTRA Technology team within Investment Banking’s Debt Market Research division. The engineer will lead the migration of a desktop application to a web-based platform, followed by API integration and onboarding of additional products. The role requires strong technical leadership, hands-on development, and collaboration with offshore teams and internal stakeholders.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of enterprise software solutions
  • Migrate legacy desktop applications to modern web-based platforms
  • Develop and integrate REST APIs and onboard new products
  • Collaborate with offshore engineers, RTMs, and local team members
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including daily scrums and sprint planning
  • Deliver 10 story points per sprint, addressing assigned Jira tickets
  • Ensure platform reliability, security, and compliance
  • Coordinate with infrastructure, QA, DBA, and support teams to implement solutions
  • Mentor peers and contribute to engineering best practices
