What You'll Do:
The Process Technician is primarily responsible for setting up and maintaining automated molding equipment and providing technical support to commercial press molding.
What We're Looking For:
- Disassemble, clean and reassemble material handling equipment in a thorough and timely manner.
- Supply clean IPA used for cleaning to various departments.
- Maintain disposable equipment inventory levels using the Kanban system
- Prepare and label solvent hazardous waste for disposal.
- Follow procedures for safe handling of flammable solvents.
- Assemble material handling equipment.
- Accurately record data on routers, QAD and other ERP systems used.
- Perform set-up of molding equipment on Vesta presses.
- Diagnose/troubleshoot processing issues on Vesta presses
- Provide technical support to daily production activities utilizing Vesta presses.
- Set-up and maintain manual secondary cutting and punching fixtures.
- Set-up and maintain automated cutting and punching equipment.
- Diagnose/troubleshoot vision inspection camera issues.
- Perform set-up of molding equipment on commercial presses.
- Diagnose/troubleshoot and repair material delivery systems.
- Diagnose/troubleshoot processing issues on Commercial presses
- Ability to wire heaters in parallel or series.
- Disassemble, clean and re-assemble cold runner systems.
- Set-up and maintain part handling automation equipment.
- Replace intricate mold components.
- Inspect, review and score mold conditions.
- Execute established molding DOEs.
- Balance a multi-drop cold runner utilizing sequential valve gates.
- Understand and follow SOPs pertaining to your area.
- Understand and follow Work Instructions pertaining to your area.
- Maintain Safety, Quality, Productivity, scrap, rework, utilization, and efficiency
- Other duties as assigned.
- Observe and promote Company standards and policies on safety, quality and productivity.
- Understand Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in medical device and clean room environment
- Support and observe 5S and other lean manufacturing methodologies.
Skills That Make a Difference:
- Successful completion of four-years of high school, or equivalent is required.
- 5-8 years of experience, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Experience performing mechanical, electrical, electronics, hydraulics or pneumatic systems repair (preferred).
- Basic understanding of Preventative Maintenance Programs and 5S principles
- Medical Device manufacturing and clean room environment experience is desired
Considered a Plus:
- Excellent (written and verbal) communication and effective human interaction skills.
- Flexible to change and possess a high degree level of integrity and “can do attitude”.
- Willing to work in a team environment and contribute to group goals
- Able to convert units of measurement, add, subtract multiplication and division.
- Ability to receive and provide instructions in a positive manner.
- Proficient in basic hand tools i.e. adjustable wrench, Allen keys, screwdrivers, ratchet and sockets
What Will Be Your Environment:
- The employee will constantly be exposed to working near moving mechanical parts with frequent risk of electrical shock.
- The employee will occasionally be subject to, working in high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, and outdoor weather conditions, but rarely (if ever) be exposed to extreme cold or heat (non-weather) or wet/humid non weather conditions, travel on company business.
- The noise level is considered moderate (normal shop conditions).
- The employee will be required to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment such as: safety glasses in the designated areas, hairnet/beard cover and jumpsuit when on the production floor, gloves when handling hot objects or solvents, earplugs when required and steel toed shoes (preferred).
- This physical demand level for this job is considered medium with frequently lifting 10-25 pounds. Exposure to lifting more than 100 pounds is rare (if ever).
- During maintenance work, employee will frequently be exposed to sustained bending, stoop, kneel, crouch/crawl, reach above shoulders and repetitive bending or squatting with constant exposure to dynamic standing/walking and using hands to finer/handle or touch.
- The employee will occasionally be exposed to static standing/walking, pushing/pulling (15lbs), floor to knuckle lift/lower (40lbs), knuckle to shoulder lift/lower (75lbs), shoulder to overhead lift/lower (15lbs) or climb/balance (on ladder).
- The employee will rarely (if ever) be exposed to using foot/feet to operate machine.
- The following vision requirements apply: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
