Linux System Administrator, Mid

Key Role:

Provide hands-on experience managing Linux-based IT components. Provide network and systems administration support for all cybersecurity systems in the Enterprise. Provide systems administration and engineering support for non-Windows operating systems such as Linux-based systems, including Redhat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). Support the networking administration focused on enterprise infrastructure systems such as Cisco and Cisco ISE, next-generation firewall (NGFW) such as Fortinet's FortiGate, Linux-based systems on Virtual Machines (VMs), physical servers, Azure Cloud environment such as IaaS, and architecture.

Basic Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience with computer science, business management, IT, or networking
• 5+ years of experience with system administration technologies, including Linux operating systems, network topologies and security architecture
• Ability to synthesize technical details into actionable risk insights and communicate with stakeholders
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Management, or IT
• Linux System Administration Certification, including Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), CompTIA Linux+, Linux Foundation Certified System Administrator (LFCS), or Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC-1)

Additional Qualifications:

• Experience with ServiceNow and JIRA
• Experience with managing Windows-based, Azure Cloud environments
• Possession of strong core administration skills for Red Hat Enterprise Linux

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $62,000.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
