Your Impact:

StreetLight Data is seeking a dedicated Product Owner to drive the development of our data and metrics products. You will play a crucial role in defining the product vision, strategy and roadmap, working closely with Product Managers and collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Data Science/Data Engineering, Engineering, Marketing, and Sales. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to solving complex real-world problems in the transportation sector. Among other responsibilities, you will lead a technical team to build robust, complex infrastructure to reliably and efficiently deliver high-quality data, especially our mapping solutions.

Location: Remote within the US

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for data products, aligning with overall company objectives.
  • Translate customer needs into clear and actionable technical requirements for the Data Science team.
  • Manage product development, working collaboratively with the Data Science/Data Engineering team to ensure consistent, timely delivery of high-quality data products.
  • Plan and manage data science sprints, using Agile methodologies, including maintaining and prioritizing the product backlog.
  • Identify metrics dependencies, blockers, and product risks.
  • Act as a primary point of contact between technical teams and stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment.
  • Work closely with customer-facing teams, including marketing, sales, and support, to facilitate product communication and ensure customer satisfaction.

Here's what you'll need

  • 3+ years of experience in transportation, data science or data engineering
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical major
  • Exceptional project management skills and ability to align multiple stakeholders
  • Proven ability to translate ambiguous customer needs to technical requirements
  • Familiarity with basic data science and statistical concepts such as distributions, sample bias , and machine learning
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Demonstrated clear and proactive communication, especially ability to explain complex technical concepts to less technical audiences
  • Ability to balance multiple projects with competing demands in a fast-paced environment

Preferred:

  • Expertise in geospatial data, mapping platforms or GIS software is a strong plus
  • 3+ years of experience in a product management, technical product management, or technical program/project management role
  • Experience working with big data using tools such as Google Cloud

130,000.00

Posted Salary Range: Upper

160,000.00

The base salary range for this position is $130,000.00 to $160,000.00. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
