In this role, you will be part of the Seller Trust Policy team. This team crafts and uphold policies that gauge seller performance with the goal of providing a consistently positive and satisfying experience for eBay’s buyers.

We are seeking a Senior Manager, Trust Strategy & Operations to lead both the strategy and day-to-day operations of eBay’s Seller Performance Policy. This role is responsible for shaping and implementing policy frameworks that balance trust, scalability, and customer impact. Success depends on strong cross-functional alignment and the ability to influence senior stakeholders through clear, data-driven narratives that guide decisions and drive meaningful change.

What You Will Accomplish

  • End-to-end strategy & execution ownership: Develop and implement the seller performance policy strategy. Use seller feedback, data insights, and operational metrics to continuously refine policy frameworks and improve the buyer and seller experience.
  • Influence senior leadership: Build and deliver high impact analysis and narratives to secure approval and/or resources from senior Business, Product and Trust leaders.
  • Stakeholder management: Establish and maintain relationships with key partners including analytics, product, legal, and customer service teams.
  • Seller engagement: Regularly connect with sellers to capture feedback and insights to incorporate into policies and processes.
  • Communicate policies: Enhance the way eBay communicates our seller performance policies to sellers, including improving external policy information and seller communication.
  • Run the business: Lead the day-to-day functions of the seller performance policy, including resolving high-priority issues, maintaining policy documents and collaborating with partner teams.

What You Will Bring

  • Experience: 7-10+ years of relevant experience in e-commerce, trust & safety, strategy & operations, management consulting or related field.
  • Strategic and Structured Thinking: Ability to define long-term policy strategy while navigating near-term execution. Skilled at simplifying complex issues into actionable insights.
  • Operational Excellence: Track record of owning business-critical workflows with high attention to detail, rigor, and accountability.
  • Analytical Acumen: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with comfort working with data teams to size impact, measure outcomes, and inform decisions.
  • Influence and Communication: Exceptional communication skills with experience addressing senior leaders and influencing cross-functional partners.
  • Customer Centricity: Deep appreciation for seller needs and behaviors, with a strong belief in designing fair, transparent, and empowering policies.
  • Collaboration and Adaptability: High EQ and cross-functional fluency, with a collaborative approach and ability to navigate ambiguity.

The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:

$101,200 - $174,100

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
