Job Title: Environmental Project Manager

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Environmental Project Manager to manage projects from inception to completion, focusing on assessing and mitigating environmental hazards. This role involves conducting comprehensive site assessments, overseeing sample collection and analysis, and preparing detailed reports and documentation. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations, develop and manage project budgets, timelines, and resources, and write and review proposals for new projects and clients. Additionally, the role requires training and guiding junior staff and collaborating with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to ensure project success.

Responsibilities

  • Manage environmental projects from inception to completion.
  • Develop and implement strategies to assess and mitigate environmental hazards.
  • Conduct comprehensive site assessments and oversee sample collection and analysis.
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation of findings and recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, timelines, and resources.
  • Write and review proposals for new projects and clients.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior staff and team members.
  • Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to ensure project success.

Essential Skills

  • 6-8+ years of experience in Environmental Science.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related field.
  • Experience as an Environmental Project Manager.
  • Experience with NYCDEP projects.
  • Project management skills.
  • Environmental science expertise.
  • Hazwoper certification.
  • Site assessment skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Air Sampling Technician certification.
  • OSHA 30 Certification.
  • OSHA 40 HAZWOPER Certification.

Work Environment

The role is based in a great office located in Midtown, New York, within a team of 10-15 Environmental Scientists and Inspectors. You will work on NYC Agency projects, reporting to the Operations Manager. The culture is fun, with frequent happy hours and outings, and there are growth opportunities to become a supervisor. The organization takes pride in the high caliber of work performed and offers the chance to work with a wide range of clients, including those at the federal level. Additional certifications needed during the first week of training will be paid for.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.07 - $67.30/hr.
