LCMS Scientist II Labs

NSF is looking to add two experienced chemists with good analytical lab skills for Scientist II LC/MS openings working our Sunday- Thursday day shift 8:00am-4:30pm which includes a 5% shift differential 3:00pm-11:30pm but will qualify for a 2nd 10% shift premium.

  • Perform routine tests using LCMS/MS to support certification testing including sample preparation, sample processing, data entry, data analysis, data peer review, and data reporting
  • Independently perform troubleshooting and maintenance of various LCMS instruments and methods in the water testing area.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members in delivering data of results on time. Maintain a high level of productivity.
  • Participate in the improvement of the existing methods, development, and validation of new methods for expanding the test capability to support business expansion.
  • Provide a high level of data quality by keeping traceability records for equipment maintenance, non-conformance, method modification, and standard deviations.
  • Engage in cross-functional discussions in failure resolutions and, prepare and provide supporting data for lab investigation and/or QA data review.
  • Evaluate and develop laboratory processes, procedures and perform maintenance/selection of instrumentation
  • Set a plan for training junior analysts to develop their judgment skills.

  • Bachelors Degree in related Science field or equivalent combination of experience and coursework
  • Minimum years of analytical lab experience: 1-5 years
  • Hands-on experience in Analytical instrumentation (LCMS, HPLC and/or GCMS experience preferred)
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to demonstrate NSF core values and ethics
  • Ability to safely handle chemicals
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting principles.
