Faculty: Adjunct engages in teaching activities according to expertise in the classroom, skills laboratory and/or clinical setting. Functions collaboratively with faculty and clinical staff in coordinating student clinical rotations. Guides and directs student activities in the classroom and clinical environment within the framework of the course or specialty to promote progressive student attainment of Course and Curriculum Objectives. Actively promotes a supportive learning environment reflective of excellence in nursing practice. Works collaboratively with Departments within Centra and cooperative agencies to provide learning opportunities reflective of current evidenced-based nursing practice. Faculty: Adjunct will be contracted for a flat fee per didactic credit hour and a calculated fee per clinical hours.

Addresses multicultural, gender, and experimental influences on teaching and learning
Utilizes knowledge of lifespan growth and development and diverse cultural practices when applying theory to the clinical setting
Provides timely, constructive, and thoughtful feedback to learners
Designs evidence-based teaching and evaluation practices by drawing on existing literature
Positively contributes to college scorecard metrics
Positively contributes to achievement of the colleges accreditation standards and criteria
May perform other duties as assigned or requested and job specifications may be modified or changed at any time
Required Education: Masters Degree
Required License/Certification: Hold a current, active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) course completion card.
Effective April 1, 2024, candidates seeking employment in this role at Centra must possess a valid and current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS Provider or AHA BLS Instructor) course completion card. Proof of certification will be mandatory prior to commencing employment. Both AHA and RQI cards are acceptable forms of certification.
