As a Junior DevOps Engineer in our team, your primary responsibility will be to support the testing and deployment of software systems used by Swift Customers. You will work closely with developers, testers, and other stakeholders to analyze specifications and technical design to identify test plans, cases and execute them.

Your role will involve configuring and maintaining the application environment, identifying defects, troubleshooting and ensuring timely resolutions of issues to keep up the smooth rollout of quality software in production.

With your expertise in scripting languages like Python and Bash, you will automate routine tasks ,test cases and contribute to improving system performance, testing and reliability.

Responsibilities:

  • Install and configure software applications packages on servers using standard installation procedures or scripts
  • Provide technical support for testing activities across various applications • Respond to customer queries regarding software functionality and defects within specified time limits
  • Establish and follow standard operating procedures to resolve complex problems
  • Assist in evaluating and recommending upgrades to enhance test coverage to improve operability and support of application
  • Work with multiple stakeholders to identify new test cases, problems and provide resolutions.
  • Keep abreast of new developments in technology
  • Participate and organize environment testing, and installations/upgrades for non-prod environments
  • Execute procedures and tests to identify , report and track resolutions to ensure software meets quality and service standards.
  • Maintain the culture of continuous learning and growth in Team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience in software testing or production operations.
  • Proficiency in drafting test scenarios, executing test cases, and test automation
  • Good understanding of software release management processes and tools
  • Experience working with Linux operating systems, Oracle Databases and SQL
  • Knowledge of container platforms and orchestration such as Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, ArgoCD , etc.
  • Proficiency with one or more scripting languages such as Shell Scripting, Perl, Python, Ruby, etc.
  • Knowledge of Observability tools : ELK or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of web hosting and networking concepts and awareness of protocols including HTTP, FTP, SSH, DNS, SMTP, TCP/IP etc. is a plus.
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies, testing methodology is a plus. Ability to perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes Experience working with ITSM processes and tools equivalents like ServiceNow, JIRA, etc.
  • Experience in Change, Release and Problem Management processes
