Basic Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems - Progeny Systems is a high-tech business focusing on software and hardware system integration, cutting-edge research and development, and manufacturing. We provide premium systems, services, and products for the Department of Defense, government agencies and commercial clients.

Seeking a Mid-to-Senior Level Engineer with 5 to 15 years of technical experience to become a Development Manufacturing Engineer dedicated to the development of military-grade electronics for the Common Weapon Launcher (CWL) system.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review of electrical schematics, mechanical assembly drawings, and cable drawings for manufacturability
  • Create, review, and maintain new parts and Bills of Material (BOM) in Product Data Management (PDM) tool
  • Create and review product change notices and product variances in PDM tool
  • Create, process, and manage material purchase requests
  • Create, process, and manage Shop Orders for kitting and building development products
  • Process development for development manufacturing workflows
  • Design and construction of special test equipment for Development and Production products
  • Develop material estimates to support new product proposals

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Candidates should have technical acumen, an educational background, and experience in hardware development.

  • Experience reading and reviewing electrical schematic, mechanical assembly drawings, and cable drawings
  • Familiarity with hardware build and test process
  • Strong understanding of design for manufacturability
  • Familiarity with manufacturing standards including IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 a plus
  • Familiarity with US Navy product development and shipboard qualification process a plus
  • Ability to rapidly adapt to handling technical issues found in system integration labs, field environments and during production
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

Combined Salary Range

USD $121,192.00 - USD $134,447.00 /Yr.
