The Quality / Value Manager is a key member of the site’s Leadership Team and responsible for quality, process reliability and optimization throughout the lumber manufacturing process at the Bruce Lumber Mill located in Bruce, MS.

Key Functions:

The Quality / Value Manager is expected to focus on improving quality, process reliability and optimization throughout the mill by maintaining a safety first mindset at all times; acting as a liaison between the customer and the plant; developing and maintaining a strong product knowledge base; interfacing effectively with other departments and maintaining open lines of communication with stakeholders; identifying customer needs and translating them into specifications for the mill; involvement in all aspects of process engineering with a strong emphasis on machine diagnostics and process control; ensuring development and implementation of Optimization systems; leading productivity and quality improvements based on data analysis using employee teams; monitoring inventory discrepancies on an ongoing basis; creating special reports that support the needs and initiatives of the leadership team; being responsible for product procurement and tracking inventory levels to ensure product availability; and managing all optimization throughout the mill.

Qualifications

The following qualifications are required:

  • A demonstrated passion for safety and exception leadership capacity in improving safety performance.
  • Bachelor's degree or High School diploma and equivalent experience (QA/wood products/forestry/finance/business).
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and deductive reasoning skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and define problems, establishes facts, draw valid conclusions, and develop viable solutions.
  • Effective in process control applications (spreadsheets, databases).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and teach others.
  • Demonstrated self-starter with excellent time management skills and the ability to perform well with minimum supervision or direction.
  • Strong team building skills and ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels within the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to get work done through others and develop a strong team that quickly identifies and corrects quality/value problems throughout the facility.
  • Excellent written, oral and listening skills.
  • Effective in facilitating and encouraging change management.
  • Strong independent problem-solving, organization and logical thinking abilities.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software.
  • Ability to travel as needed.

The following qualifications are preferred:

  • Strong background in leading Lean, Six Sigma, 5-S, or other continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes used in lumber operations.

What We Offer:

Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $68,371-$102,556 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 5% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

Retirement: Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan, which includes a paid company match in addition to our annual contribution equal to 5% of your base salary.

Paid Time Off or Vacation: We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3-weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours and paid parental leave for all full-time employees.
